Saturday, the runners of the Kansas City Cross Country teams completed their races at the Rim Rock Classic.

Saturday, the UMKC cross country team will head to Lawrence, Kan. to compete at the Rim Rock Classic hosted by the University of Kansas. At 9 a.m. the men's 8K race will kick-off the festivities, followed by the women's 6K at 10 a.m.

Kansas City's Courtney Frerichs was named the Western Athletic Conference women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for Sept. 23-29.

Both of the Kansas City Cross Country teams finished Saturday's race at the 29th Annual Roy Griak Invitational.
